Dow Jones Newswires Forms Wealth Management Advisory Council

Council to Promote Best Practices, Facilitate Discussion and Give Voice to Practitioners

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 15, 2005--Dow Jones Newswires today announced the formation of the Wealth Management Advisory Council. The new professional group's three-part mission is to promote the practice of wealth management, facilitate industry discussion and innovation, and represent the interests and concerns of wealth-management practitioners. The council draws its members from the most successful practitioners in the field of wealth management, as well as experts from leading research and consulting organizations. The council is hosted by Dow Jones Newswires.
"Today's high-net-worth investors are demanding wealth managers--advisers who will focus on the big picture, not just the Big Board," said Joseph Lanza, council liaison and vice president, sales and marketing, Dow Jones Newswires - Americas. "But given that only 8% of advisers practice wealth management, there is a need to advance the profession. We are proud to assist the industry's leaders as they work to advance the art and science of wealth management."

Charter members of the council include:

Patricia Bell, Senior Vice President, Investments, Merrill Lynch.
Anthony DiValerio, Senior Vice President, UBS Private Wealth Management.
Joseph W. Montgomery, Director-Investments, Wachovia Securities.
Michael Sawyer, CIMA, Managing Director, Senior Private Wealth Management Advisor, Smith Barney Citigroup
Cerulli Associates
The council will hold its first meeting in January 2006 to discuss initiatives for the year and long-term objectives. Topics on the agenda include:

Creating an industry road map to help institutions and managers adopt wealth-management approaches.
Fostering debate of industry "best practices."
Pursuing underserved segments, including women and minorities.
Attracting the next generation of wealth managers.
